Yea, it's expensive, but the amount of time you save not messing around with a cheap punch is invaluable. This punch does not NEED to be bench mounted. I just use it as is. You could add a custom fabricated plate to the bottom for stability but it works great as is.

YOU WILL WASTE TIME AND MATERIAL Things this tool does not work on (Properly): Anything sign related - Banner, polyester fabric, coroplast, Max Metal Things I have successfully used it on - Nothing.... The tool comes in covered with so much grease that you will absolutely ruin any shirt you're wearing during use. It requires a bolt (not included) to be put through the bottom hole for it to even remotely secure the grommet pieces together. The adjustment on the top doesn't sit tight enough to make any adjustments. I just use it to hold my cutting mat in place now......
