I did a ton of research before making the purchase as well asking a few photographer friends of mine their opinions. Epson was recommended for the quality of their inks and their excellent line of professional papers. So far, I've been using the printer for about four months. I love the results, especially with the right papers. The printer was easy to set up and configure. I use the Epson print layout software and it seems to work very well. The colors are phenomenal. Detail is also excellent. Obviously a lot depends on the resolution of the file and the paper type. I usually print 11x14 and 13x19. I have only printed 17x22 once. So, if I could go back and start again I'd get the P700, however it is nice having the option for big prints. Negatives... the ink is crazy expensive, print selectively. It also takes up a lot of space when the paper trays are open. Make sure you have a good spot for it. Other than that, this is a serious pro unit.

From the first print, right out of the box, till now, I have been very pleased by the P900's consistent high print quality and ease of use from my Mac. Monitor calibration, Adobe RGB88 images, and paper profiles (mostly on Moab Lasal Exhibition Luster). I've made some very fine prints up to 13"x19" so far. That said, the printing software interface needs to be rethought, made more intuitive, and less quirky to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rusty H from The Epson P900 is Excellent I have had a P800 for many years and it has printed many excellent photos. So far it seems that the new P900 exceeds the performance of the P800 in every way. It is a delight to use and the resolution and color are both beyond excellent.

There's a learning curve, but with a wonderful printer like the p900 and a little research, the expense and effort are well worth it. Even my very first prints were impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Studiowharff from This printer is great! I have had this printer for 2 years and can absolutely say it rocks. It is a great printer. The only finicky thing is it is difficult to feed multiple sheets but that is a small price to pay for such a great machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Melinda D from Pleased with New Epson P900 17” Printer It was easy to set up and is quiet printing. The print quality is so excellent. I used to have the R2800, predecessor to this model, and always had to switch black inks depending on paper finish. Sometimes the printer didn’t register the ink change. This printer has both types of ink and senses which to use once you select the paper type. No cartridge swapping! I bought it to print my photos, watercolors and pastels for greeting cards. I decided on the 19” printer in case I need to make larger prints for myself or other art friends. The ink is very expensive partly because there are 10 cartridges that give more accurate colors. I think it will be worth it though. Im very pleased.
